Three reasons, no fine print

What you get when the fabric is honest.

Nothing leaches out in the water.

No PFAS, no BPA, no phthalates, no optical brighteners. The knit is tested to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I, the tier written for babies. If it would not pass for a newborn, it does not go on your kid.

UPF 50+ that survives the season.

The sun protection is structural, knit into the yarn rather than sprayed on top. It cannot wash out at week six.

Sheds far less into the sea.

Long-staple regenerated nylon, tightly knit and low-pill, so fewer fibres come loose in the wash.

Our story

It all started with a baby getting rashes.

When Emily’s daughter Lily started breaking out in hot, angry rashes as a baby, she assumed it was something she ate. It turned out to be the synthetic fibers in her clothes. That discovery — and the search for something safer — is how Coconut Octopus began. Two moms, on a mission to make swimwear that’s actually safe for kids and the ocean they play in.

Why Coconut Octopus

The octopus that carries its own shelter.

In the wild, the Coconut Octopus collects shells and coconut husks to build its own armor — clever, resourceful, always ready for adventure. It’s exactly the spirit we want for every kid at the beach.
